I also have a 65 mm steel sc pulley from Eurocharged and I wanted to use this unit after my whole incident with the 61 mm aluminum, but I was not able to because it appears the "arms" that hold that back black plate onto the pulley itself are not straight. When you mention "springs", are we talking about the same thing? When i say "arms", I am referring to the three arms that hold that back black plate onto the pulley itself.

That's a known issue and Eurocharged will have the spring clips (arms) replaced for free. The one's on the early pulleys were made from a softer steel, and over time the gap between the clutch and pulley would decrease from the spring clips bending.
As far as the issue with the 61 splitting in half, I'll be keeping my ancient "old school" 65mm pulley (including tools) in my hatch from now own. It's a tank!

Yes. The gap between the pulley and the clutch is not even due to the springs not being straight.

My second 61 mm aluminum pulley is going bad...caused a new fresh belt (that was installed with the replacement pulley) to break half way home from a trip :-(
So my first 61 mm pulley broke on me on a trip to Los Angeles (approx 5 hrs) from San Jose (yet not the belt but it did get messed up), and now my second 61 mm pulley started acting up (making sounds the minute i got there from the long drive and after maybe a few hours of the car cooling off) on my trip this weekend to Redding (approx 4 hrs) from San Jose but only the belt broke this time on the way back.
I have had way to much loss of time, some money, and frustration with this setup :-(
I am thinking of going with the stock setup even though I have this 65 mm pulley... Has anyone put long trip miles on the 65 mm pulley? I would have to have EC replace the springs anyways on it.

Not to bring back this old thread from the grave...but I've been planning on doing the sc pulley, tune and nw cai for a while now. Now that my job doesn't require insane daily mileage now is the time. I bought and installed the cai but before I take the next step, I want to make sure EC straightened out these problems.
