CODE 3 Filters??

Does anybody have any feedback on these Code 3 filters? They just mount on the back of your existing OEM intake Y and you leave the rest of your air intake system on, ( just unscrew the back plate off your existing intake Y and screw the filters on) that gives you 3 intake air supply's.

James, the filters are only $29. They come without the frame. Nothing to screw to the OEM air intake. And yes, you can make some cheap a$$ frame for these filters but Brandon from Code3 way back in the day made a nice frame that went with these filters. And that was the point of my previous comment to you.
Regarding the quantity of the air. As you know this car has a supercharged engine and therefore the quality of the air also counts. The opening in the back of the OEM intake will bring in a lot of hot air from the engine bay into the intake and that is not a good thing. It is better to enlarge your intake to 3" each side and bring in fresh cold air from outside. And to take advantage of all that extra cold air, modify the rest of the system accordingly and get a tune.

picture of the filter

Is this not the same pattern on the back of the OEM intake Y? It looks like it to me, if it is just take the back off and screw this new filter on it, If you leave the OEM air intake on, it would still ram air in through it also, I guess if it did pull to much warm air in through the back, you could always cover 1/2-3/4 or as much of the opening up as needed, the original air coming through the OEM ducts is still there plus however much extra air you think you would need through the new filter,, Am I wrong on this thought?? I seen them talking about it on the SRT6 forum and it seemed plausible to me, when moving down the road the engine bay doesn't get as hot either, someone mentioned putting a thermostat by their new filter to verify it. I may be missing something but they was pretty convincing,

In your picture is the complete Code3 intake system. $29 only buys you the foam filter, the green part. You still need something to hold the filter in place. As far as the efficiency of the Code3 intake system, it may appear to be better than OEM but the SL55 intake was better than Code3. And Needswings 3" intake is better than SL55. So, you not wrong, it's just there are better solutions. One of the issues with the OEM intake is the restricted size of the Y pipe vs. SL55 Y pipe. BTW, most of the SRT6 guys that have modified intake run one of the version of Rob's Needswings intake, not Code3.

I used to run DIY Code 3 intake. Though the sc sound is cool, I definitely noticed massive improvement in terms of HP by switching over to DIY NeedsWings intake.
