Hey guys.. so since i bought my 55 it has been making a whining noise. Put it on the lift at work and can tell that its coming from the oil pan so its clearly the pump. It has mobil 1 0w-40 and a mann huble filter.I have searched and read a lot about it but cant find an answer to is it a concern? Because a lot of people say its normal. Thanks guys for any help.

I hear ya.. just wanted to know if it was going to fail on me one day. Also when i got home today i noticed a womping type noise coming from the lower front of the engine not very loud i just i never noticed it before, is it the oil pump chain tensioner on its way out?

 

All my research never indicated that the noise is attributed to failure. So I think we're good there. I don't have many miles on my car - so none of the typical failures / repairs.

Regarding the lower engine noise - there was a campaign over noisy A/C compressors. That might be it.

 

It's normal.
