B.I.P. v3 CDT TCU remapping launch

Happy Holidays from BIP your M113K tuning specialist. Wanting to show our customer appreciation this Holiday Season, so BIP is offering WA5A 5 speed transmission tuning (TCU Tuning) for $525 shipped in the continental US .

This is a new product line we are launching via group buy. Our v3 CDT TCU remapping is available for all MBs and AMGs using the WA5A 5 speed series of transmissions including supercharged 5.5L V8, N/A 5.5L V8, biturbo 5.5L and 6.0L v12s (600MB/65AMG), supercharged 3.2L V6s, etc.

Because customer service comes first, with the best transmission tuning on the market running a close second , we have decided to make this a running GP so that we will keep no one waiting, even for the initial 5 customer group purchase minimum—meaning there’s no reason to wait to modify your transmissions ability to handle the extra power and torque your ECU tune and mechanical modifications have increased. Just as with ECU tuning certain maps must be changed when power and more specifically torque output is increased over stock, we identify and remap more pertinent maps than anyone else we are aware of. Remapping of the transmissions stock file to match the changes made to your ECU will increase driveline part durability and longevity while also yielding significant performance increases; including up and downshift quickness, increased paddle shift responsiveness in manual mode, sharpened throttle response, a change in the actual shift point (if done via ECU only the car will not shift at the new raised limit, it must be done in both controllers), we will also preserve the transmission internals (i.e. clutch packs) by modifying not only line pressure, but clutch pack volume fill rate, as well as a few dozen related maps.

With up to 40% of the Overall TQ management split between ECU and TCU in these vehicles (Anything with a MB/AMG 5 speed WA5A variant transmission) is found in the TCU, the gains are easily verified on the dyno, using a VBox or at the track. We tune not only WOT (wide open throttle) but PT (part throttle) as well so regardless of how you drive your beast you will always feel the difference. Changes in drivability and torque output rival that of high quality ECU tuning as the TCU similarly controls half the driveline. We also can calibrate the rear end gear in the EGS, if you chose to upgrade your ring and pinion to a steeper gear for increased torque multiplication.

EGS52 and EGS53 Tuning time will vary depending on our daily workload and the method of return shipping speed you select. If possible we will remap and reship the TCU the same day, worst case the turnaround will be 2-3 days. For those not wanting to wait or that are unable to wait we do have spare TCUs available that you can simply plug and play with No Downtime at an additional cost. Shipping will be via UPS Ground.

Please let us know if you have any questions at all about the remapping or the entire process itself (we can tell you where the TCU is located per vehicle, how to remove it and where to ship it and if necessary.

Thanks again to our loyal customers and Happy Holidays!!!

Craig

I felt the ec tune shifting was slow, I constantly hit the rev limiter at the track because it shifted so slow on the 1-2 shift in my E55. I also changed my rear gear to a 3.06 from a 2.65, and ec tune could not calibrate the tcu correctly like I was promised.

It would go into limp mode in the burnout box, and at the end of each quarter mile run from the lack of gear calibration. I contacted them via text from the track that day, and was told they could not help.

The new bip tcu has had zero issues, no limp mode, correct calibration for my gear. It shifts very quick in manual and sport mode, and the harder you drive the car, the quicker the shifts become. I get no esp malfunctin codes or CELS as the tq management maps are spot on. Same shifts points and rev limiter settings, and no more banging of my limiter on the 1-2 shift.

true but when eurocharged is offering theirs for $250 for the holidays when it's regularily this price, and they say the same things including reviews, I am just wondering why I should spend $525 vice $250

See post # 3 and # 4 above, the tunes are not the same. It is up to the consumer to make the descision, but you get what you pay for.

Happy Thanksgiving brotha

I am somewhat impressed with the 1st post. This is the first time I have seen a vendor even touch on what is involved in developing the tune or even how the tcu is programmed. I have asked other tcu tuning vendors before and have either been blown off or ignored. I did not even realize there were so many maps to adjust.

I would not pay $250 for another vendors tune, in fact I have a FREE tune as part of a refund from a vendor on here that I would not do. The feedback should be enough for you to make an informed decision. One person had to resort to manual gear changes since the auto mode would just bog it to the point of being almost undriveable. Sure they have excellent customer feedback and probably fixed these problems eventually....

If the statements above are anything to go by BIP sounds like the way to go even at twice the price. I might consider it later on. Craig, if you are willing I would be very interested to learn more about what gets adjusted and how it affects the transmission...

Thank you. And the second question? Can you raise our (C32) limiter to 6500-6700? Is there an AFR spike when shifting from 3rd to 4th?

Raising the limiter should not be a problem, and it should not spike on a smooth upshift where the limiter is not involved.

well I guess I was a beta tester with the Eurocharged one on my 32, car would bounce off the rev-limiter and had the afr spike haha, not sure if they figured out why, I ended up putting mine back to stock.

hopefully BIP can make it work for the 32 guys

The reason the AF spikes is because when it bangs on the limiter, the ECU cuts fueling and you see a massive spike. Once the TCU and ECU rev limiter are set correctly, it will upshift with plenty of time before it hits the limiter.
