Major service at 20k
I took my car in on Tues for standard maintenance and a ticking sound. I got a new C240 4Matic as a loaner. Very nice car on a side note. I was not prepared for all of the items that were wrong with the car. Seems like the ticking was a flap behind the dash (dashboard removal...ugh), washer fluid dumped out, radiator had a hole (what?), and a broken cable in the steering wheel. I am stunned that all of these items went bad on a two year old car that has but 20k miles. Perhaps I need to drive it more to keep the kinks out. But regardless, that is alot of stuff for a car so young. Had it not been for warranty, that could have cost me a couple of grand with labor and parts. There must have been lots of labor since they had it for four days before I picked it up today. They no longer use the Euro synthetic Quaker State, and have switched to Mobil 1 by order of MB corporate.

It clearly says....
The car was shipped with Mobil 1 Oil.. I dont remember much after that. But, if the dealer is using whatever, and the car is under warranty, even if you bring the oil in yourself, there is no guarantee they will use it. It is such a racket. They put 4 miles on my car (no big thing) but at 6mpg... someone was seriously hammering it on the test drive for 6mpg. Such it is... until I learn to fix it myself I am at the mercy of the shop.
