C32 not enough differentiation

Not looking to be flamed here guys, I love the C32. I saw one parked at work the other day, it was beautiful. Same color as my C230k Sport Sedan, but I couldn't help notice that it looked too much like my car. The wheels ofcourse where bigger, and the front bumper was different, but aside from the decals, not much else (exterior wise, ofcourse I'm not counting the engine)....I was baffled that Mercededs wouldn't even put standard xexon's on the C32, I mean the M3 comes equipped with it. I think giving the rear bigger flares, adding clear xexon headlamps, adding a more sporty and aerodynamic body kit and it would really look like a M3 fighter...Just a thought, some may like it the way it is, and I would certainly buy one myself if I had the money...

They do look very similar....but I like the stealthy-ness of the C32. Makes it a nice sleeper.

OK, and the m3 doesnt come with leather...your point is?

Actually amonst all the 240's and 320's in my town, the C32 stands out quite well. Not many notice a c class, but its a different story with the c32.

yeah you can tell right away thats a C32 instead of 230K or 320 The M3 doesnt look like a 330 you can tell right away its a M not a 330. I think the only thing the C32 needs is diffrent factory wheels like the ones from the S55 and E55. You can get Clear Xenon's on the C32 almost all the 2003 models have.

im sorry man... but the M3 does NOT look like the 330. Their similarities are no where near as big as the C32 and the regular C-classes

i can tell from severak hundred yards away if the car is a M3 or a regular CI.

M3's come wit the side grills, M bumpers, M wheels, and the huge fender flares. and the 4 tailpipe exhaust.

C32's come wit style IV's, AMG bumpers and amg exhaust.

M3's are much much more differentiated from CI's than the C32 is from a regular c-class

sorry 2 say =\

The C32 needs to come with flared fenders like the M3.

I personally think the 330ci's do look quite similar to the M3's from a distance. The C32 has side sills as well. As far as making the c32 stand out more, I disagree, the subtle changes from the c class are what attracted me to this car. I dont want it to scream boy racer like the M3 does.

the 330Ci does not looks the same as the M3 other than the obvious lights, doors, etc. The M3's hood, front fender, rear fender, mirrors, bumpers, and exhaust all are distinctively different than the 330Ci. Even more so when you compare the 2004 330/325Ci which had the facelift to the M3.

I do agree that C32 looks a lot like the regular sport pkg if you are not a car buff that can tell right away that C32 has AMG kit all around, rims, bigger brakes, and twin oval exhaust. BUT if you do put both side by side, there's no way you'll mistake the C32 for a sport pkg C-class. On the side note, I've yet mistaken a C32 for a sport pkg C-class vise versa.

The new and old S4 looks even closer to their regular A4 sibilings than the C32 does to the sport pkg C-class.

I think the most important part is that the C32 is a sedan and the M3 is a coupe. It just wouldn't look right w/ the widebody on the sedan, IMO.

btw, I don't think the M3 comes w/ "xenon" (not xexon ) standard.

ok ok, i KNOW the M3 does look VERY similar to the 330ci. All im saying is that the m3 does not really stand out when seen from a distance. Being a car enthusiast, of course i Know the difference, but heck, they pretty much have the same body. The m3 doesnt sit much lower than the 330ci as well.

I know im not the only one because there were a number of reviews when the e46 m3 came out that said the exact same thing...unless you have a trained eye, you would mistake it for a 330ci.

well the c32's chrome exhaust can be easily spotted because the other C's don't even look like they have an exhaust. overall all cars upgraded version look the same like the s430 to s500. but the m3 doesn't stand out from it's sibilings too much especially now with their new sport packages for the other 3'ers

Personally I like the way that the C32 (and all AMG models for that matter) have very few differences from there non-AMG counterparts. It adds to the stealthness, doesn't attract a lot of attention, especially from those people who like cars who attract attention (i.e.- police).

Just my thoughts.

It is all about the "Q".

Those "diesel" emblems are calling me.

Don't ask me how I know,

but a DIESEL emblem on the trunklid of a C32 leads to a lot of interesting conversations at the dragstrip. ...If you need a flash ride,a C32 is not your best bet.Try a red M3 convertible instead.

After about a year of owning this car, can't stress how true this is. My gf has a 20th anniversary GTI and can't go to grocery store without some ricer seeing the rabbit badge on the back and trying to get Fast & Furious.

Me? I could drive all over town with Fiddy blasting out of the speakers, revving my engine and doing burnouts and nobody would think of racing me.

The M3 has way less standard features than the C32. M3 does not come standard with Xenon, leather, power seats, moon roof, heated seats, rear cup holders, rear air vents (no such options), and rear side air bags.

could be worse ...

could be worse ...

pull your clk55 up to a clk430 ... twins cept for the dual tips and slightly dif amg wheels. i dont mind since torque is visceral not visual, but i wouldn't kick some factory fender flares to the curb.

I love the C32 stealth mode. In fact it could even be even more a sleeper.
Maybe I will take all of and give it a C220 Diesel look with an extra smoke unit in the back for 'turbo' mode LOL.

all the 3-series doesn't have alarm. it only came with auto door lock. That's the only downside of the 3-series.
