My C32

After not being able to find an M3 that I really wanted at the right price, my friend pointed me toward the C32...... As soon as I saw it, mentally I had already bought it, and after an extended test, a deal was done on the spot.

As she stands now..........

Current mods since I've owned it are as following:

Carbon Fibre tail spoiler.
Resonator delete.
H&R 20mm lowering springs.
H&R ARB kit (set to stiff).
EBC Yellow stuff pads on front and rear.
New drilled 343mm front black discs.
18" C55 AMG alloys
Pirelli P-zero at the front
Pirelli Cinturato at the rear
LED sidelights.

Springs VS standard:

New spring on Strut:

Front ARB VS standard:

Resonator delete:

And a pic from one of the two times I've visited the Nurburgring Nordschleife this year.....

Next on the list is a rear strut bar...... I'm going to fabricate that one myself though.

Welcome to the board DS. That's one nice 3duece you got there. I can relate to your comment about already having it bought in your head just on sight alone. I look forward to reading your updates.

Not a lot to update really, my paddle shift conversion has taken a back seat over the xmas period, and all I've really done is cure a knock at the front left (drop link), fitted the H&R anti-roll bars, fitted the rear EBC yellows and got myself 10l of Mobil1 0w40 and a shiny K&N oil filter to get done Monday night.

In a word, YES!!!! they are the best £363 I have ever spent. They totally transform the car, it handles superbly on fast corners, and inspire confidence.

So I hated the wheels and decided to get a set of 63's instead.... 8.5J at the front and 9.5J at the back. Completely transform the look of the car and make it look a hell of a lot more modern in my opinion

Then I could see far too much of my rear calipers, in their un-treated-rotten looking form so I decided to make them gold to match the fronts.......

Next on the list is the wireless paddle conversion. I acquired an 09' CLC paddle wheel for £40 on eBay, and stripped the paddles off and fitted them to my 32' wheel. At a later date I will get the CLC airbag and buttons and upgrade, as it is a like-new wheel which looks a hell of a lot more modern, but in the meantime I'll be using the 32' wheel.

So far I have removed the wheel, fitted the paddles then re-fitted the wheel. That will be the last time I need to remove the wheel to complete the paddle conversion, up until the time I use the CLC wheel.

The actual fitment was really straightforward, using only a Stanley knife, my trusty Bosch 18v drill, and some longer screws.

The only other real update is that someone kindly smashed my drivers side wing mirror off while I was at a Manchester City game...... A quick call to MB revealed a replacement cost of £620 (which was only to get the wing mirror in primer - no paint) so I quickly searched eBay, and found one for £80.

Another quick call to MB assured me that the new mirror would fit (it was off an 07' Coupe) so off I went happily to fit it...... At this point I found out that I had been lied to and had to fabricate the old loom onto the new mirror to make the connector fit.

An added bonus was that on one side I now had a facelift LED indicator, that worked fault-free, so back onto eBay I went, and found the passenger side one for£21 delivered, which turned out to be a 30 second job to fit.

The splice:

Yep, looks good. Got a full side shot picture to post?

What size rubber front and rear? Different lug bolts needed? No rubs?

How fast did you make it around the ring?!

Yes, I Needed shorter bolts, and there is zero rubbing on 225/18/40 at the front and 245/40/18 at the back, but I'll be changing the rears soon to 255/35/18.

Didn't get a clean lap, and both times was pre-roll bars, but I'd say roughly 10m15s

Personally, I believe I have another 35-40 seconds to find there quite easily, then after that it will take some severe effort to find more time.......

I'll take some better full side shots at the weekend

I was astounded on what a difference a set of wheels could make to the look.... maybe without the H&R springs dropping it 20mm it wouldn't have looked as good, so it's had a double effect for me.... better handling and better appearance

First trackday of 2014 done, Knockhill Reverse (Scotland) with no major dramas, apart from a very long pedal (thankfully) in the last session of the day. Completley burnt through a set of EBC Yellowstuff pads so that's tomorrows purchase. I also averaged a new record.... 7.4mpg over a ten lap run :-/

I did say I'd get a side shot of the car on the new wheels, and I remembered as we were about to leave..... (excuse how dirty the car is looking, it'd had a long hard day)

You can also see a very excited 9year old passenger after his day of exciting track time with his daddy.....

Little update.....

Finally got H&R 10mm hubcentric spacers at the front for adequate clearance and to stop the 100mph shudder I was getting from the 5mm ones.

Got another set of yellow stuff EBC pads and brake fluid from MB to do a full flush, as since the last track day's heat, the pedal hasn't properly come back, and although my existing yellows still have 3-4mm left, I don't wanna be bedding in new pads halfway through next months Donnington track day. My fault really for not doing the fluid after the 'ring. Didn't need rear yellows as I drove the whole track day with esp and traction off, so it wasn't burning them up under acceleration around corners.

Also got a set of top mounts here ready to fit, and currently in the process of getting the 4pot rear calipers off an S55 to fit once I've used the life in my current discs/pad setup at the rear.

Also going to do an ATF flush and filter change before it's back on track.

Here's a pic from today after a (very) quick wash/polish to show the stance at the front on 8.5j et35 with 10mm spacers, and 9.5j at the rear. I love it.
