Richardmozis's C55
I though that I would make my own thread on my car after a year of ownership. But first.... here is what my ownership has done to the car. Maintenance and cosmetic fixes of things like bumper cracks to broken fog lights

More to come soon.

In my quest to tidy up this car, I removed the aftermarket amplifier and sub-woofer wiring. Then I returned the system back to factory spec by cleaning everything up and putting an original sub-woofer back.
I find it interesting that the RCMP officer who owned this car before me was bumping some beats on his massive speakers. He even had them bolted to the frame.

by any chance- do you have a picture of the other side d pillar/rear seat area? You may not have needed to take that side apart, but I'm curious what is in there. I've been looking for the teleaid splitter and antenna line.

If you remove the rear airbag cover on the driver's side, The antenna is right at the top under the rear window edge and the line just goes around the airbag.

Changed the Transmission fluid and the differential oil in one shot.
Drained both of them overnight.
Fuchs 4134 and Castrol Synthetic 75w90.
It was pretty easy except it was time consuming to fill the diff by just squeezing the bottles.

It never became a concern for me but my C55 never 'chirped' after locking or unlocking the vehicle, also my panic alarm was weak.
Then the car was flashing its lights and setting alarm off randomly
Changed the siren unit itself and all is well - for the first time during my ownership - the car chirps.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you buy the siren? The one on RMEuropean is $166 and I'm wondering if it can be had cheaper.

The car is supposed to chirp when locking or unlocking? I thought it only flashed the lights. My Audi chirps when locked, and I do like that feature.

That would be The Netherlands mod which can be programmed through STAR. It makes the chirp sound when locking/unlocking the vehicle but you loose your panic feature.

It was simply plug and play with a new unit and now my alarm is very loud and the car chirps with the light flashes. (1 for unlock, 3 for lock).

Cool, good info to know re: the chirping. I've actually been contemplating buying my own Star diagnostics (and also a VAG Com unit for my Audi, and then something else for our Land Rover too), so it's cool to know there are other possibilities to modify the car in that manner. It would kinda suck to lose the panic feature, but then I have my fists of fury for that...

The new hood insulation looks great I really like the new/updated design. My insulation was in the same shape as yours but I just ripped it out since it was rubbing on my CF Airbox and scratching it.

Well it has been a while since my last update. My next job was to replace the valve cover gaskets, reseal the breather covers and replace all of the hoses.
