My speakers are missing??
Could someone provide a photo of under their rear shelf
Mine does not look right (piece of wood screwed to the inside)
I assume there are supposed to be two speakers here

Just on the other side of that circular grill you're supposed to see the magnet (offset surprisingly from the circular shape). My detective skills think that the previous owner used to have a sub box in the trunk and probably removed the stock sub to use the input feed from the amp and get more sound into the cabin. Then since the sub was gone the inside rear deck was too loose and rattled, and they used some wood to hold it down tighter. Search the trunk for wires and see if you find something.

Definitely missing the stock sub, that circular area is where it would be. I'm not 100% familiar with the options of the car, but maybe it just doesn't have that option? You can look up your VIN # with Mercedes and get a print-out of what options you have. You can do it with Startek online too, but you have to pay for a subscription to that to use it.

I know I have logic 7 and have to thank Viper for his reply because that would also explain the marks on the carpet in the trunk - which were probably from an aftermarket sub. I'll probably just ebay a factory sub back in.

Funny I was going to say also check for "lines" in the carpet from the corners of the box, but I figured nah I won't write that. heh.
As for cars without the sub, I believe all C55's came with the Harmon Kardon option as standard.

Yeah I got my car with the sub out and an aftermarket amp and sub in a box and also noticed there where the original sub was. Would still like to see a pic of how it used to look standard.
