Battery drain not seats
I have a draw on my battery of about .5 amp. I tested this by disconnecting the negative side of the battery and connecting my volt meeter in line. When I first touch the negative terminal i get a draw of 1.65 amp then it will drop to about .9 after about 30 sec. After a little while longer (maybe 1min) it will drop to about .55 amp. I pulled every fuse I could find with no change. I also pulled both seat module wires and aftermarket headlight ballast with no change. Is it normal to have the first 2 readings when testing the draw? While pulling the fuses in the truck i found that the wire connected to the light button does not exists I found only one wire in the trunk that could connect to is and it was capped at the other end. I believe it has been like this since i bought the car. I also just replaced the battery with a factory MB battery. I am really at a loss here and none of the mechanics in town want to touch it. Any help would be great.

Ok, I will ask the dumb questions. Was the alarm on? Was the key in the iginition? When the hood is up, to test the battery, how about the hood light? Are the doors open, making the dome lights on?

no alarm, key in my pocket, I don't have a hood light, doors closed when testing trunk and hood fuses and door button clamped down when testing dash fuses. Thanks for asking.
I should add that I was having charging issues before this came up. There were some bad wires on the alternator harness. I had this repaired at a reputable shop that I am unfortunately two states away from now. Battery shows 14+ while the car is on.
