a/c compressor leaking out of pulley

I noticed a bright green stripe around the a/c compressor pulley today. It appears that a very fine mist of what i assume is refrigerant has been leaking out by the front shaft. I searched but couldn't find this as a very common problem. A/c is nice and cold, for now. Could someone steer me in the right direction to diagnose and repair?

Did you use a leak detectant..? Refrigerant evaporates once in comes in contact with the atmosphere.. Unless it's the compressor oil building up.

I have the same problem on my c55! The green stuff is a dye used to check for leaks and.... we both have leaks but cold ac. My ac compressor unit was replaced before I bought the car. Problem was that I bought the car during a cold Canadian winter..... and didn't use the ac.

Interesting, i didn't add the leak detector so it has been in there. I didn't notice it leaking last summer. I scrubbed the spot on the frame clean so i can see if it returns.

Should i have the a/c charged?

I could be losing compressor oil too, it was pretty sludgy around the bottom hoses. How would i check that?

Sounds like you can just replace the clutch.

Any advice on r&r for a compressor leak?

Exclamation

Same problem on my 2003 C320.
Do I need to completely change the A/C Kompressor ?
