Also, with light modification both front and rear can fit stock rotors I believe.
2005+ CLK55/63 have neato, but hugely expensive and stupid 2 piece rotors(despite the fact that an advantage of a 2-piece is you only need to buy new discs, not hats, Benz will only sell you the whole rotor). The OEM C32/55 front rotors are a tiny bit bigger then the CLK's. The CLK's might be a tiny bit thicker though.
You can use 6-pot caliper with 345 Rotor, but rear should be 330 Rotor,, 17" will clear the calipers, just depend of wheel off-set(ET)..
ZAYED,,
Zayed, have 2 set of wheels both with ET36/34 stock offset
As i understand you, there may be a problem only in rear?
And what about the master cylinder, will it have enough power?
I don't think any problem in rears, need to be sure that the front caliper not touching the wheel, if so, just need to use spacer to clear it,,
ZAYED,,
This was my main concerne, about the calipers toching the wheel with the stock 17" Im not really in to adding spacers... If it's really possible to put only the caliper in front and use the stock wheel then good for me, and bad for my wallet
My stock AMG wheels are fited with winter tires. For summer u use a beutiful Hoedus wheels (same like US sport W203) which are 2x lighter than stock and in my mind 5x better looking. Now a third set of wheels...
Will do my research and if it fits will search for 6/4 pots.
slk55 rotors are 340x32 and c55 are 345x30 and I can't possibly see them fitting 17" rims in the front as I am running my stock 18" and it is tight but fits like a glove. I also did the mod to fit c55 rotors to the slk/clk 6 pot calipers. It just required 2.5mm washers to lift the caliper closer to the hub to compensate for the 2.5 mm difference in radius of the 2 rotors. The thickness difference doesn't matter as the c55 is thinner so the caliper compensates by just filling with more fluid to sit closer to the rotor. I did this because I had brand new rotors at the time of coming across the calipers and didn't wanna drop an extra $900 on 2 front rotors. Been running the set up for 50k miles with no issues! and break pads still going strong! EBC Ceramic FTW!
