Honestly worst case scenario is removing the transmission and pushing the sensor out from the inside of the bell housing, I know it's not something you wanted to hear.
Just went thru this problem today with a seized coolant temp sensor actually, and I was able to finally free it by bending it up around the "edges" and eventually jamming a long snap on pick in there and yanking it out with copious amounts of penetrating oil and swearing.
I know the crank sensor is in a PITA position to get too, but try using penetrating oil and a long pick that is strong that will dig into the plastic and can be used as a lever.
Good luck

thanks for the time brother. i just got the car a few months ago. previous owner had a busted radiator hose instead of changing the hose the dummy just kept adding fluid and ran the car hot causing the cps to damn near melt and bond to the metal of the bell housing. last weekend i was able to drill thru it i just need to clean it out now. any idea on how to retrieve the magnet and shavings that fell in without removing the tranny? not a mechanic just a diy'er who doesn't mind getting dirty but patience with this cps has well exceeded my limitations.

There is a possibility that the magnet and the shavings have fallen into the area in the bell housing where the torque converter sits... see if underneath you can remove the rubber plug that kind of seals that area and use a blow gun from the top of the cps hole and hope for the best... if not much comes out / no debris you're going to have to remove the transmission.. which honestly is not hard but may be challenging at home for DIY given the weight / awkward positioning.
