Loud Permanent Whistle from 1.5K to 6K RPM after AMG supercharger engages, see videos
Hello,
This my first post for that pb. Didn’t found a similar description / sound on the forum.
I wanted to know your opinion about that .
It has been for a long time since I hear this noise but it has increased a little bit recently.
I always thought it was the famous chirp everbody speaks about but reading again the forum recently, I have a doubt.
The whistle starts when S/C engages (i fell it by a little loss of power and by the sound like a bird chirp) around 1.5K RPM , and then the more I rev up, the more the whistle is high-pitched.
At 5K RPM, when I release the pedal, whistle is still present and the sound becoming less high pitched. Reaching 1.5K, whistle disappears.
It does it on every gears.
The whistle can be well listened at 1’40 or 2’00 on the video (not good quality sorry, put the sound up) :
Running faster same pb (0’27 and 1’10) :
Car runs fine but that sound ..
Any ideas ? vaccum leak ? S/C clutch slippage on every RPM ? bad bearing ? ...
The car : 02 C32 150K km
Thanks in advance !!!

I cant really hear the sound you are describing but what air filters do you have and have you changed them for a different type since you have owned it?

It does it when cold or hot.
Good idea, i will check the codes this evening with a friend. he has recently bought a code reader.
With ear/headphones, you can better hear it.
Air filters have been changed recently. It is the original intake system.
No mods on the car :$ I owned it since 3 years,
Have changed too the belt and tensioner pulley. No result.

All Right.
No error code, no warning code with his software 'outil ODB facile' and usb interface ELM327.
Perhaps to be tested with another reader..
