i have a stock supercharger pulley with a 178mm crank pulley and ever since that upgraded crank pulley was installed ive had that "chirping" noise when the SC clutch engages with the stock SC supercharger pulley backing.
***For those who have upgraded upper supercharger pulleys either from Eurocharged or others, do you have ANY issues with this "chirping" noise?
i dont have any performance issues from this, but its DRIVING ME NUTS having to hear that sound and every passenger who hears the sound asks if something is wrong with my car since the sound is so loud.
i pulled the upper SC pulley off and lightly sanded down the clutch plate and SC pulley back side as others on the E55 boards have suggested would help mitigate the noise, but the sound is still as noticeable as ever.
would appreciate any feedback.... i may just go ahead and buy a SC upgraded pulley from EC and get rid of the crank pulley and put the stock back on.

I had it for a while , with the 65mm pulley i think. I sprayed it (clutch) with some water from a high pressure hose and it went away. (cover the alternator and be careful what you are spraying) etc) Maybe give that a shot? Maybe also look at the gap (adjust shims) as the extra load could have increased the thrust of the pulley hitting the clutch?

Mac - thanks will try that and see if anything quiets down. the gap also might be slightly out of spec as its at .40MM and i think the correct range is like .25 to .30MM so will adjust that and see what happens...
thx for the feedback!

i have that chirp with the 65mm eurocharged pulley. i don't know if it's the pulley though, i've always thought it was just the supercharger clutch engaging a bit aggressively.

i meant to reply with this update last month but forgot... so i had that annoying supercharger CHIRP for about 2 years after installing the 178mm crank pulley.
i tried everything of pulling the SC pulley off and sanding the back of that plus the clutch plate, plus i sprayed those and used that Stop Squeal stuff and nothing worked.
what i never checked closely enough was the pulley GAP, and i think it finally was gapped correctly and ZERO noise!!! the gap is very tight right now and in the past the gap was definitely wider and you could notice it easily.
this i found after taking the car to Speedriven to replace my leaking intercooler and when i got the car back the chip was going, and all they said was they correctly gapped the SC pulley..... so there you go!!
