Lightest C32?

Is your C32 floating like a butterfly or wallowing like a sow? It seems that we all agree that weight (especially front end) is the C32's biggest handling enemy relative to the M3 and S4. However, we, on this forum, talk alot more about dyno HP than scale lb. So how much does your C32 sow weigh, and how did you get there?

I've been thinking about this recently and I came up with these ideas inregards to improving handling and reducing weight:

1. getting some light 17/18" rim/tire combo to reduce mass & unsprung weight

2. race calipers & rotors can also save weight per wheel.

3. changing the stock battery to an optima battery (saving 60+lbs) and putting a spare in the rear (adding ~50lbs); thus, making the weight distrub. closer to 50/50 (52/48).

4. h&r coilover combo to improve handling and maybe? some weight savings.

option 3&4 is the direction im leaning towards.

well... if you really want to make ur C32 a race car... do what ronnie said, AND...

take the back seat out, take spare out, change your seats to a CF shelled race seat, take your stereo and AC out, and all your sound proofing out also.

just a matter of how far you want to go.

Don't forget to take the fat our of your diet too! Damn, with all the other things being stripped out, might as well.

weight comparison

race calipers and rotors will not really save any weight due to the race discs are made of cast iron which absorbs heat far superior to steel without distorting, and larger than stock size, so they drill them and use aluminum hats to keep weight down, the calipers are alloy but much larger than stock steels and have larger heavier pads, so to save weight with a brake upgrade you may be disappointed, but braking will be superior
