My old W203 C55 has popped up for sale...

... at a Holden Dealer in Melbourne, Australia.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I'm happy for the mods to move if necessary.
This car was traded on a HSV a little while ago and is now advertised for sale at a Holden dealer in Melbourne.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the link, so I haven't, but happy to PM to anyone who may be interested in this car.

I would be happy to have a chat about the history of this car if anyone is considering it's purchase as it needed a lot of work when I traded it and I'd hope the dealer has taken care of all/most of it before listing for sale rather than leaving it for the next owner.

As with any specialist vehicle of this age and mileage, a comprehensive warranty from the dealer and a PPI from someone with extensive experience with this model would be a good idea.

For a whole range of reasons, it had to go, but I do miss it though....

Hoping to get back into an AMG someday...

Well, I first thought it was the regular jet black color

Then later pics shows it looks like the diamond black color (very very dark metallic blue)

Which is it? Regardless of which, the lighting could be better done

It's Obsidian Black, which is actually a very dark blue.
The photo's are the dealers, not mine.
The front and rear have been repaired and re-painted recently so the body actually "looks" very straight and clean, but a more detailed inspection will reveal that the car has been "sandwiched" front and rear and there were a few other legacy issues that needed sorting which the insurance didn't take care of which is one of the (many) reasons why I traded it.

It actually drives pretty well, and the issues will not be immediately apparent without a detailed inspection knowing what to look for.

Yes, it's a variant of black, but when clean and in the light it definitely looks more Very Dark Blue.

The car does look nice, but this isn't surprising because it was recently returned from fresh paint and panel work front and rear before it was traded.
There is a lot the pictures don't show, which I think any potential purchaser should be aware of before purchasing, hence this thread.

It may not be a problem for an enthusiastic DIYer with knowledge of this model and access to low cost or non-original parts, but at dealer prices for original parts and labour rates in Australia this car could be costly for the next owner.

If anyone in Australia is considering purchasing this car, I'm happy to share details via PM.

Dealer has described it as "One owner" in the listing, (Which it isn't), and the price has been dropped by $6K to a more realistic starting figure considering age and condition. (but still a risky purchase for the unaware..).

I'd love to see this car fall into the right hands with someone who can bring it back to top mechanical condition and enjoy it as it was intended.

Advertisement now lists the car as having been sold.

I would be happy for the new owner to get in touch with me if they manage to find themselves in mbworld.

The color is Diamond Schwartz Metallic. Looks black under most conditions, but is actually a very dark blue. It's what I have and it's a great color, BUT, why in the Hell would the dealer not polish those tailpipes? They look like they've been dipped in roadsalt for about 5 years.

LOL @ the colour arguments...

I didn't post this for a colour critique or to start an argument.

I was just putting this out there as a warning in case the new owner or a prospective owner was looking at this car, as it had a lot of issues when I traded it.

To set the record straight, the colour was listed by the dealer selling the car as "Dark blue", and as "Obsidian Black".

Strictly speaking neither is correct as the actual paint code is 768U Diamond-Black, Metallic Paint.

In real life, it actually looks black most of the time from a distance, but more like a very dark blue close up, whenever the light hits it or it is clean. (Which is for about 2 hours after it is washed in rainy, dusty Melbourne).

@Viper98912 - I think we have a winner.
@L8 apex - Close second.

No prizes - Sorry.

I didn't notice the tailpipes!

They were painted with heat resistant black chrome when I had the car.
It also had the resonator delete and got much louder in my last few months of ownership, (and stunk regularly of rotten eggs under acceleration), so it's likely the catalytic converter(s) were on their way out as well.

It's not unlikely that the dealer may have just swapped out the whole exhaust system for a second hand one to make it roadworthy enough to sell rather than try to repair it.

Anyway, back on topic.

If the new owner is out there, do yourself a favour and PM me.

The books were with the car, but I have details that the dealer wouldn't have shared about the history of this car that you may be interested to learn. (Before your dealer warranty runs out)

Sorry.
I meant to apologise for ME starting the argument with incorrect information in the original post which I blindly took from the dealers ad listing.

So, yes, you were absolutely correct to call this out.

Thanks.
