Insurance company classification of C32?

I was shocked today to notice on my Geico bill that my insurance bill basically stayed the same when I replaced my 2002 Acura MDX with a 2002 C32!! The explanation from Geico: Your MDX was a 4 wheel drive! As if any farking moron is going to go off-roading in an MDX!!

Apparently, many carriers classify the C32 as a "sports sedan," along with 6 cyl. Honda Accords, Camrys, and other buttplugmobiles.

Question: How does your carrier classify your C32?

AAA classifies it as a 4 door sedan. I pay $1400 a year for my C32.

so, a person taking the SUV called MDX off-roading is a moron? then what do you call the people who buys SUVs, but don't use them as they were designed to do? Super morons??

You call them 'illiterate.' (You say "people who buy," not "people who buys")

Actually, they are called "skiers." The MDX is an awesome snow vehicle. I actually did try to take the beast off-roading once (not nearly enough ground clearance). So, I guess that I qualify as a "farking moron" under my own definition!

My 2003 C32 cost $24 less/year in insurance than my old 2001 S4.

I spoke to my agent about this last week and she said the C32 was classified as a "Performance Car" based on the HP, so yes, my rates would go up.

Anyone in Mass?

Mass rates are regulated. Is there anyone in Mass who owns a C32 that can give their insurance rate and step?

Im sure the 4 doors and auto tranny has anyone fooled that these AMG's are high performance vehicles. But then again, there are some insurance companies that are on top of their game.
