Tom.

Tom, say I want to mod my car but really want to keep it as transparent and "dealer friendly" as possible. IE- i figure the chip , the supersprint headers, the intake splitter. Will exhaust any benefit?

The idea is to stay away from the ODP (as awesome as it is) as it would be perceived as radical modification........

Could you kindly post power gains or information along this line? Anything you would add?

C32
it is the pulley that will add the most HP. even if you add only the intake, chip, headers you will not feel an obvious increase in power.

In my opinion, the headers would be perceived as a more radical modification to a dealer than the ODPS. The ODPS are anodized black in order to retain that stock appearance.

Headers are a good improvement on the C32, the ODPS as well. If your dealer is that critical over aftermarket parts, I would opt for the ODPS over the headers - the headers are eaiser to spot than the pulleys.

From a power standpoint, the headers will make less hp than the ODPS. The headers only make about 13-15hp while the ODPS makes 30hp from the box, with an additional 20hp gained from software - you can see where the biggest "bang for the buck" is.

Tom...re the C55

Everyone- thanks for the responses.

Tom, let me try to pick your brain..........The C55 seems very promising (for my purposes) question- what do you think is possible performance wise for the V8? your webpage re the clk55 notes a supercharger but any gains possible from chip tuning?

Which model year CLK55 are you referring to?

With software tuning, you can expect about a 10-12hp gain @ the wheels, dependent on current modifications. Of course improved drivability, snappier throttle response, and VMAX raised are also a bonus.

tom

Sorry I should have been more specific - The current 5.4l clk which has the same engine as the c55.

my assumption is what ever you have for the current clk55 will apply to c55.....

the c55 seems to have everything i want, save a LSD. manual gear control , less aggressive asr. faster steering, better suspension. even better paint quality..... I checked out the new c230 instrumentation and loved it. only thing i don't care for (i'm gonna catch grief here) is the quad pipes.

so i'm thinking i keep my c32 stock and sell it with warranty to 100K miles , 2+ yrs and go for new c55, and add a chip. have to wait see where price falls. e55s are out there for mid $70s.

I think i came across a post saying an LSD is possible on the new clk 55 i wonder if it may also be available on c55???
