03 C32 intercooler help!
Hello everyone, hopefully there a still a few C32 owners out there who ended up replacing their intercooler due to internal leak. Unfortunately, it is my car's turn to leak and it needs some love. Now, i bought a new intercooler but as i was inspecting the over 1k dollar part, it to me does NOT seem NEW but then again i have nothing to compare it against as the defective part is still in the car . I need some help from people who have had to change this part on their C32's to verify the look and perhaps numbers and markings. I have included some pictures.

Other than a few marks from handling, and the fact that it was made 10 years ago, it appears to be new to me.
BTW - I did not go with the OEM cooler, as it is known to fail, and will likely fail again. I used one from Speedriven (or Eurocharged) as they are designed to perform better than stock and will hopefully not fail over the long distance. Check out the SRT6 forums for more details.
While you've got it apart, you might as well do the 'baked potato' modification using insulated foil to keep this away from engine heat. Not that much of a cost, and can only help performance.

Thanks for a quick response Bob. I kinda wish i knew about the difference b/w oem part vs eurocharged part. I plan on doing the work myself next week some time so that will be fun i am sure...
I am also not familiar with the Mod you are referring to. I thought about getting it thermal coated but decided against it as i read on forums that, that makes little difference. How do i go about making it a bake potato?

FYI, I replaced my leaking IC with an OEM one and about 2 years later, same thing happened.
If there's any possibility that you can return it, do it and get the speedriven one. that's what I'm running now and still going strong!

If your cooling system is not split then consider splitting it away from the main cooling system. The main cooling system runs at higher temps and is pressurized. This is not intercooler friendly.

Looks like you already own some parts from needswings.com. Check out Rob's coolant separation kit for the C32. BTW, Magma Red is my favorite color . But these wheels have to go.

I agree with your statement on the wheels. I plan on upgrading it with some new ones soon after this fix is done, i just refuse to install spacers and sadly the car came with these wheels when i bought it a few years ago..

I have managed to get my hands on a used unit.
I know of a nearby fabricator who does insanely superb welding so I am thinking of sending it to him to reinforce the welds (if at all possible) and then have it thermal-wrapped/baked potato mod.
Hope it works out

where does one get this separation kit? It’s certainly can’t hurt to add to mine as well. Also I’m following this thread to see how you make out. Glad to see another C32 guy current and active.
Are you referring to these parts or am i missing something critical? Do you mean the trunk setup(with aux tank and all?)

I bought the separation kit from ROB @NeedsWings . I had the issue in 2017 with the intercooler leaking... I got that sorted a week after i posted back in 2017. Genuine part is holding up fine.
