Tensioner Rattle C32
Hey guys,
I have a major rattle coming from the tensioner area. The rattle becomes more rapid when in gear but evens out around 1300RPM. The problem started after I installed the Eurocharged 61mm pulley a year ago. I thought maybe the belt was slipping do to the smaller size of the pulley causing the tensioner to slap so I purchased a smaller belt and PSK kit from Needswings. Well the problem still isn't resolved after installing those. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Also, the tensioner is new genuine Mercedes and all the pulleys have been replaced except for the power steering pulley.

The 61mm pulleys are faulty - EC doesnt make them or sell them anymore. Mine completely sheared in half. The rattle could be from the rivets going loose (slapping the plate to the pulley) which was one of the other problems with the 65mm pulley that I had.

I purchased the smaller belt from needswings. It could still be maxed out though I don't know how to tell if it is or not. how did you fix yours?

It has nothing to do with the adjustment of shims or gap, I am not the only one that had a disaster in the engine bay (are threads on it) - I was on the first batch of that pulley (61mm rivets went) and then received the second version (replacement) and then after that one tore in half - received a 65mm in replacement. (65mm was what I originally had before the 61mm) The 62mm Karmann pulley is the one that has been built well (steel) not aluminium but they are hard to come by. (I think Rudy made a 62mm which was a good one also)
