paint

paint is plasticoat engine enamel. chrome cans with caps indicating color.

how you clean and prep the rotor hats will determine the final appearance if you clear coat. If you use a solid color then it doesn't matter.

i plan to buy a dremel moto tool and re do mine this spring. the rotor hats have small groves which i couldn't get totally clean.

hope this helps.

The problem is that most of these online parts sellers use the same data base with the same parts numbers, they really don't know what they have. Look at http://catalog.thepartsbin.com/?year...mageField.y=11

same zimmermann rear rotors x drilled
Brake Disc X-Drilled
N1000-54215
In Stock Zimmermann Cross Drilled $75.33 $59.83

Let us know how they turn out.

My story. The shop (autopartsauthority) sent me the wrong sized rotors. The rotors are not ventilated as well (just a solid single disc with drilled rotor surface). When I told the shop about the problem and how I wanted a call tag for the package sent immediately, I was ignored for days. Ignored till I threatened to do a charge back on the item, and all related shipping costs. They responded immediately with "legal team" threats and accusing me of commiting some fraud. The shop never answered the problem at hand, the fact that they screwed up the order and sent me the wrong part. Mind you I had all the emails from them claiming the product would fit my car no problem.

After running the story by my attorney (a few in the family), they told me this company was full O *****. I politely asked for their "legal team"s contact info because I wanted to talk to them, Im sure they werent expecting that. They still didnt get that I had done nothing wrong, but they had it set in their mind that I had done a charge back.

Finally, the person I was in contact with spoke to my sales rep, and they finally admitted to the mistake and agreed to send me a call tag (which I havent received yet, but ill give it a few more days)

All in all, the wrong product was shipped, but after dealing with this fiasco, Im not going to both messing with these anymore.

Good luck to the rest of you.

C32 Owners Help

I ordered this:same zimmermann rear rotors x drilled
Brake Disc X-Drilled N1000-54215 In Stock Zimmermann Cross Drilled $52.95 each. I have photos of these rotors on mbklasse
http://www.mbklasse.com/forums/showt...0799#post70799

These arrived only 2 days after ordering, the supplier has returned all my phone calls, again I have used this guy for years on Mercedes classics.

What I got are 10.9 inches in diameter. The MB supplier said that perhaps Mercedes has several types of rear rotors for the C32.
I was just told that the C32 came with both solid and ventillated rear rotors. I can't verify this yet, but I do not believe him. The supplier wants a C32 VIN number.

I looked at my AMG catalogs, they show both the 2003 and 2004 C32 has dual piston fixed calipers wih 11.8 inch ventillated discs.

The Zimmermann rotors shipped to me are stock C class size of 10.875 inches. I don't know what the the 210 number means others than the 210 model and not 203!!

Any C32 owners who want the X drilled rear rotors, I need someone to email me your VIN number so I can tell the supplier a number so he can double check Zimmermann. Please PM me.

s4iscool, did you get the same thing as I did?

Dave posted this reply at the ShopForum. It seems my Zimmermann 210-423-04-12 X drilled rear brake rotors will fit the C230 and C320 W203 cars to match the C32 X drilled front rotors. I checked the patterns are the same

"The EPC shows part number 210-423-08-12 for the C32 AMG rear brake rotor. It's the same 300mm x 22mm size used on the C43, E55, etc. The 210-423-04-12 number you got is the standard 278mm x 9mm rear rotor used on numerous other models. The "210" prefix means that part was originally designed for the 210 chassis, but Mercedes shares parts across all their different chassis, so it's common to see different numbers (i.e., that don't match YOUR exact car) for some items.

About drilled rotors. There are no aftermarket drilled rotors that I know of. But most brake specialty places will take a solid rotor and drill it for you, at extra cost naturally. I believe Porterfield will do this.

Another option is to try the late R129 Silver Arrow rear rotors, which are the same size (300x22), and cross-drilled. I am 99.44% sure they will bolt on perfectly but I haven't confirmed this! If you have a friendly dealer parts guy, they might order one in for you to measure before buying a pair. The part number for the drilled OE 300x22 rea rotor is 129-423-05-12 and list price is something like $90 each."

x drilled

prob will not bother with drilled rears.

i plan to get wheels- club linea misterios- next yr. they look like lorinser knockoffs but are really good quality, i test fitted already. the wheel will hide the rotor and a bit of the caliper- so what's the point? the front brake does all the work anyway.
