Purchase Options: E55 vs C55
Hey Folks,
Deciding between a C55 and W211 E55.
Wanted to ask those who've owned both, what their experiences were. Besides the power difference are there any significant advantages of one over the other?
Does the C55 handle much better than the E55?
Is the C55 even close to the E55 in power?
Can mods on a C55 get it within range of a stock E55?
Is the C55 more reliable than the E55?
Thanks in advance. Feel free to yell at me and tell me to search if I've missed some obvious threads :P

I haven't owned either but they are roughly the same price nowadays.
Id love the size of the E55 but I am looking into c55s mostly due to reliability and less maintenance cost.
This is all based on research. Hoping to find just the right c55 soon

I've never owned an E55, but those that have, seem to say:
- C55 is more nimble
- The E55 is just a beast with the S/C V8
- No, unless you go Turbo or S/C. And in my opinion, it's not worth it.
- Yes, these cars have been darn reliable. Look up issues regarding the fuel cap that leaks underneath the seat in the W211.

Thanks gents - im leaning towards the C55 because it's a bit smaller and is more nimble. However, the thought of having the E55 to pair with the M4 is really enticing. And like PJ mentioned, the prices are about the same.
Overall, it sounds like the C55 is less problematic? And I'm assuming is better on fuel consumption?
Right now I'm deciding between:
04 E55 w/87k miles for $11,000
05 C55 w/82k miles for $10,500
06 C55 salvage (on forum) w/100k for $5,000
