Jumping ship
Well... The time has come. I am going to pick up my ATS premium 3.6 today. While I love the c55 and the AMG brand in general I am sick of working and spending money on it. In the past 3 months I have dropped about 1k on tires and $550 on control arms. Turns out the water pump is failing now and the rear main seal is at the point it needs replaced. I am pretty sure all the shocks need replaced and the cats are on their way out. I was considering a c63 but the cost of maintenance is just crazy also I cant afford a 11 or up so there is the head bolt issue. I still have 2 190es and dont see them going any where so I will still get my 3 point fix.
Its been fun but it will be nice to have nothing to worry about on my drive to/from work.
That being said if there is anyone on the Austin area that wants a good deal on some spare parts pm me for details.

oh i know I am not new to the used MB game. It is just tough as a DD when you work 50-55 hrs a week and are remodeling a house at the same time. I still think it is a great car and I was sad to see it go. On the other hand it is nice to have all the new features and 26k miles instead of 110k

In all honesty there are a lot of things about the Cady that are way better than the c55 but... It is no benz. I see a clk550 in the not to distant future.

Thank you so much for the info.
I have a few cosmetic things I don't know how to fix, can't find a replacement armrest or headrest and my LCD acts wonky.
But get this, I'm stranded today, car won't turn over. Just had it in the shop for $$$$ 200 miles ago. Sigh. At least I'm in the Total Wine parking lot, so I have vodka while waiting on a tow truck. AAA thinks it's the starter, it's not throwing any fault codes that I can get with my little reader....
thanks again!!! And lmk if you know anyone who wants my car LOL!!

That suck but you are at the right place for a breakdown. Have you replaced the CPS? Also check the starter relay.
What are you looking to buy next?

Honestly, have no idea what I'd like to get instead--at this point something cheap and reliable!! Have to unload this one first. and I'm not sure that will be easy.
Sigh. I have a feeling I'll be drinking some of that vodka I bought tonight!!!

I did the CPS back in April. It's in the shop now so out of my hands so to speak. I am just hoping it isn't a crap load more $$$$

I'm really considering selling. I'm so sad about it but life circumstances have changed and I need a reliable car for driving between here and Dallas and Seguin. Sigh.
Thank you for all your help and advice!!

To be honest, I'm a bit intimidated to go! I'm such a car-newbie and worried my little beast isn't up to par for that group but maybe I'll be brave and try to come out this fall. I'm going to have a lot more time on my hands come September.

That's a shame man. I've got 122k on the clock and not a single engine issue or water pump. Ive also got mine for sale as it moved on to an SUV. Thinking of taking her to carmax
