Radiator expansion tank vs Headlight washer tank

This is why I'm sure on these vehciles AMG chose to use the coolant resivor to syphon liquid from if needed.
Washer fluid is heated on C class vehicles by the existing heat generated by the vehicle (cooling, engine itself, etc)... (otherwise on those cold temperature places on this planet, the system would possibly not work at all ), however the liquid inside the Headlight/Windshield washer tank is not mixed in the cooling system of the vehicle.

On the CL/S class, there are 2 separate reservoirs. One holds the washer fluid. It is heated by an electric probe that is actually in the reservoir.

The second reservoir is for the coolant (radiator & supercharger intercoolers).

Does the W203 C-class have the same type of setup with 2 separate reservoirs ?

I was under the impression that the intercooler on the C Class used the water from the windshiled washers reservoir.

Just for kicks here is the diagram for the C-Class setup.

Looks like it uses the coolant reservoir as well.

I take it that by looking at your following posting you answered your question... just in case the answer is:

YES

As mentioned before, Washer fluid reservoir tank is designed so that a vehicle can be driven any distance with the reservoir empty (so as long it is assumed you don't use the washers or complaint of having no "washing" fluid in the vehicle; of course )

Washer fluid is held/contained/stored/kept in a separate system/tank/reservoir, etc .

Thanks for the diagram!... hmmm.. my father (<--mechanical engineer) is gonna love this (NOT Vader13 "I.... AM YOUR FATHERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! - Star Wars" type)

So the question still stands... Why does the CL/S Class have the larger low tem cooler (as referenced as 110/10) as well as the smaller aux low temp cooler (as referenced as 110/11) whereas the E and C class only have the smaller aux low temp cooler ?

Any ideas ? Any thoughts to how this effects intercooler temps ?

You may have been thinking of the Evosport Stage I setup which uses the Windshield reservoir and fluid for the intercooler circuit.

Stage what????

What about "stage AWAY from that!!!"

Evosport stage "One million" or what have you are in soooo much trouble if that is true --or maybe I AM in trouble... --... land of assumptions.... if what Mr Blando said is true:

-Reservoir is no longer used for actual "windshield/headlamp washer" but instead for cooling

-If the Reservoir IS STILL used for actual " windshield/headlamp washer" AND for (auxiliary) cooling, if you "wash" away your washable fluid, YOUR CAR IS TOASTED!!!... lol...

I will watch the experts like Mr xxxx@evosport (I forget his name on the board) tell us if that horrible posibility (]You may have been thinking of the Evosport Stage I setup which uses the Windshield reservoir and fluid for the intercooler circuit. ) is actually true

I am in soooo much trouble...

Wiedermann: I think you need more than your mommy.

Our Stage I uses windshield washer reservoir for additional capacity. We use windshield washer fluid as intercooler fluid. Yes, it works. Mild soap/ammonia solution that is used in windshield washer fluid actually helps reduce surface tension and improve cooling. Just like RedLine Water Wetter works in antifreeze.

Now, you can still use your winshield washers. Even if you run it dry, there is still more fluid left in the system than stock AMG setup. BTW, low level warning light comes on when the reservoir is 1/3 full.

Sooo much trouble!!!

As I said before, I am in soo much trouble!!!... My expertise are not in Mechanical engineering at all!!

Mr vadim@evosport:

Thank you for the details on the configuration that is part of Stage one.

I tried looking for my mom last night though... had you Mr vadim@evosport not clarify this now, I would probably be on a plane right now back to Europe (mom refuses to come to me at this stage , lol )

I am counting that you Mr vadim@evosport will be at the Rosebowl this Saturday May 8th???...

Hope to see you all there
