The guys in Van Nuys are a little sketchy if you ask me.
LOL.... that was fun wasn't it. How about the steering gear they couldn't center properly, that I fixed in two seconds?

About the gearing, you are wrong idiot! On a car with a 3.46, the 3-4 shift is about 95mph. You are getting confused, the terminal speed of 4th gear (i.e. 1:1) is about 130mph. I think a 3.46 in a C32 would be too aggressive (first gear would be a pointless exercise in tire destruction), I would go with a 3.27 first w/an LSD.

So I take it from what you are telling me that I cannot just get a $299.00 set of gears, jack the beast up, turn a couple of bolts, and swap them in? Is it really a $5K project to do it right? I had no idea. If this is the case, not a gonna happen.

I did the MKB 3.07 differential on my W208 CLK. It costs about $3,500 and efinitely requires some expertise with ECU tuning. It was fine before I got the Kleemann SC, however, once I got SC, it was occasionally bouncing off the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd gear. We are considering going back to a stock differential for the 6.3 liter conversion. Personally, on a C32, I would spend my money on getting more power, not swapping the differential.

THe gears in "modern benzs" are spaced slighly differently but no worries friend!

There is a small difference but my quote of 120 is clearly a bit off! And yes your gearing is very very short. Got to love 4k rpm at 80 mph on the freeway! You need a 6.0L Hammer motor with your 3.46!

C32 is fine with its 3.06...a 3.27 would be nice but not for 5k !
