Bi-Xenons crisis
Mr Rareamg:
Call Mercedes Benz USA and let them know what is going on!!... a short fax for their records on your "feedback" won't do any harm...
Cheers!

Bi-Xenons deal
Mr: x-tian-230k
My previous comment was probably not clear (which of my comments really is??? ). Replacing the complete unit would include the ballast... that is why I mentioned that both units should be replaced (reasons for doing them both there are, life expectancy, age of units should be the same, etc)
Cheers

Mr Wiedermann,
I was told the ballast is part of the assembly? Is that true?

Xenon ordeal
Mr Rareamg:
Not at all!!.. I would say more like "I don't necessarily believe what comes out of the service advisor's mouth all the time"... and I would've believed them if they had not lied to me the first time when they said "Parktronic is not available in C class Mercedes Benz... it does not exist!"... shame that I lived in Austria soo many years and go there often and see the normal C classes with Parktronic all the time!!..
Cheers!

411 on Parktronic fror Mr Rareamg

What's Parktronics?
Now I am shocked!!!.. however, that is supposed to happen regarding parktronic on C32s or any C class vehicle.
Parktronic is a system with sensors on the bumpers that allows you to know how far you are from objects that you not necessarily can see through the Windows and/or mirrors. Those cars equipped with that system (Parktronic), like E classes, Cls, etc, have the sensors on the bumpers that look like buttons that can be seen on the strip of the bumpers...
On your C32, on the buttons on your dashboard's center console, there is a button that is not operational... whelp??? guess what that button is for (meant and/or designed for)?...
If the button was operational, it would allow you to turn the Parktronic off on your car (like you can turn the ESP off, for towing, etc).
Here are some pics (Courtesy of the "Sunman"):
Front Parktronic sensors:
Parktronic Rear sensors:
Dashboard's center console button strip with Parktronic button:
Front Parktronic "hump" display (notice the grill dash dial is missing, that is because the part No. replacing that dial with a grill only is in "back order"
Parktronic display for the rear/Dome light with 2 reading lights (located where the cabin rear light is)
Pictures are worth a thousand words people say... what do you think???
Why is not avaialble on C classes???.. whelp.. "Costs" savings on C classes.. to make them "affordable" inthe US market, US regulations mainly have to do with it for the front cornering amber lights that you loose when you change to Parktronic... other M Benz cars (E, S, etc) don't have that problem
