SCRATCHES on tint

I know that some of you have experienced this, but just trying to take a poll to see what you may have done to remedy this.

I've heard that some have sandpapered the inner window guide while others have replaced the guide or placed a softer material over it.

What kind of work does this entail (ie. removal of inner door skin -how?) and what was the success rate with your option?

THANKS

The place that installed my tint did an excellent job. They linned the inner door with felt so it wouldnt scratch the tint. The do alot of high end cars and I highly reccomend them. They are in Southern Cali. Shoot me an email if you want there contact info.

NMM, I would love to drive to CA

but it's a bit of a haul from TO.
However, it would give me an excuse to visit some family/friends and check out the scenery though.....

On the mole skin / felt stuff, could this be applied with the door panels still on ??

TIA

No No... Do it right and felt/moleskin it. The last thing I would recommend is cutting the rubber scrapper out. It helps keep the window tight against the rail, stops moisture from getting into your door panel and possibly damaging electrical components and also helps to isolate the cabin from road noise.

Applying felt/moleskin is simple and only takes about 5 mins. a door.

Most models all you need to do is loosen a screw and pop the upper door panel loose to pull the rubber scrappers out.

Yup. With the C class you don't even have to take out the whole door. The tint guy just pulled on the top and it loosened up.

How to email you ? There's no email icon under your profile ?

Do you mind posting phone number, or location of that place. I'm in southern CA as well, and want my car tint before the summer heat BBQ the interior.
