Should i buy this 2005 c55 AMG
Hey guys.
I plan on buying this 2005 C55 AMG, with Nav 107k miles : Asking price 7.9k. I would be the 4th owner if purchased.
Went and test drove it. First time I ever drove a Mercedes and now i love it. The car currently has nothing wrong with it has no service lights currently on, some scratches on exterior but nothing major for a 12 year old car. Planning on going to get pre-purchased checked at a local dealership before purchasing.
Just wanted some of opinions from actual owners if I should go ahead and purchase if everything checks out right.
Also what kind of maintenance should I be expecting for mileage and how much does that cost?
Also any other thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated.

You seem to already have made your own decision. I say yes because it is totally worth it. Shame the interior isn't black but the contrast looks great nonetheless

I kind of like the contrasting interior. I know I'm sick to death of this sea of black most of us have.

Yeah, pretty set on it. But thanks for your input! Going to get it fully pre-purchase inspected if everything is good will have it Monday!

I have a 2006 C55. Pretty solid car, but I agree to have a pro inspect it prior to purchase.
Motor mounts and control arm bushings are a common problem on these cars, especially those with higher miles, so I would have someone look at it as they can be very expensive to fix if numerous problems are discovered.

Good luck with your purchase! Please let us know what the results of the pre-purchase inspection are. Although I prefer a black interior I agree with others who find the lighter colour leather refreshing to see.

Honeslty even if there are minor things wrong with it..it's very worth it at that price. I've seen some with over 140 k going for the same price or more. That one looks very clean. Low miles means it probably wasn't as driven as much

Looks like the car is in mint shape, and that price is below typical prices. The only big maintenance around 100,000miles are the spark plugs, this car has 16. Maybe it's worth asking if these were replaced.

Great reliable cars motor and trans wise. Get a PPI and check the items mentioned above. Sunroof, windows, heated seats, and valve cover gaskets are also items to double check. Looks like a great deal to me if it checks out.

A PPI will definitely help you finding any issues and will help negotiating the price. I purchased a 05 c55 with 98K for $6,500. The seller was originally asking $9,000 but the PPI was able to identify a power steering leak, oil cooler leak, rear main seal leak, brake rotors were near the wear limit, and the primary catalytic converter has a fractured case. Majority of that was maintenance related. Since purchasing the car, I’ve replaced spark plugs, flushed all fluids, my ac compressor failed and that had to be replaced, and I’ve fixed the known leaks but I’m still leaking somewhere 😒. These cars are amazing but you need to have time and patience. Good luck with the purchase.

Motor mounts were done at 80k miles by the dealer according to the car fax! everything ended up checking out good now have the car!
