Which Motor Oil do you run in your C32?

See the service manual...
It lists all the oil weights and brands they deem reasonable for the car.
The Mobil 1 sticker is nothing more than advertising for Mobil 1 Synthetic oils. If you want a real synthetic oil Mobil 1 is not what you should use. Royal Purple and Red Line are true synthetic motor oils but few people use them in road going cars. Trouble is real synthetic oil costs 2-3 times as much.
I do, however, use Mobil 1 but I use 15-50 for I tend to drive rather hard and this weight is better suited to extended aggressive driving.

Correct me if im wrong. There is two types of Mobil 1 syn. There is the "TRI SYNTHETIC" which you are correct is not a "true" synthetic but in fact a synthetic blend. The oil used in our c32's by the dealer is Mobil 1 0w40 full synthetic. It is a true synthetic motor oil. Royal purple and Red line are also synthetics. There is no way to say which is better other than personal opinion. Personally My friends and I have had motor failures from Royal Purple. We concluded that the oil's viscosity level wasnt where it should be. ( the oil was too thin ) This all all just personal opinions and ideas.

I use Mobil 1 because it still only costs 4.25 a qt while the real synthetic oils cost 2-3x that. For a road going car Mobil 1 is enough but for a track car that has a racing designed motor I would use one of the above stated oils.
As for the Tri-Synthetic being a blend, it is not a blend. The Tri-Synthetic name is just a marketing method of naming a new formula for the Mobil 1 line. Mobil 1 is not a blend but it still is petroleum based in nature. It is far better than say some Chevron regular oil but it is not a pure synthetic oil.
I would rate motul as being slightly better but at a serious cost to your bank account. Is it worth it? I am not so sure about that.

I have heard a number of bad things about Royal Purple.
People have to remember that Mobile 1 and Red Line (and other botique oils) have different audiences. Mobile 1 is interested in keeping up with all the API standards. Oils like Red Line are not, they are not going to compromise the quality of their oil to meet the API standards.
