what are these spots all over my paint?
I moved so I was forced to leave my car out for about a week till the garage gets cleared out at the new place. Finally went to wash the car and I realized there are a lot of these spots all over my roof, hood, and trunk.
They wont wash off with sponge and soapy water. They do come off with my nail but thats definitely not how I want to clean them off. Even cleaning them off this way takes a bit of time, they are on there good.
Any ideas what these are and what the best way to clean them is??
I would imagine a clay bar?
I took a few pics with a magnifier.
The air brought something down thats for sure, I dont think I got these on the road.

The spots look huge coz the pic was taken with a magnifier but they are actually tiny like grains of salt or sugar and they are all over hood, roof, and trunk.

I was able to clay the car fine.
i noticed that my brother and father in laws cars have these spots also to some degree. They seem like little metal specs of dust that when combined with morning dew leave brown spots on paint that are hard to get off.
i ordered a csr cover until my garage is available, definetly not trying to clay the car again lol.
i think it might be rail dust.
