Mercedes hood ornament tacky?

Mercedes hood ornament tacky?
Anybody else feel like that? It looks good on older cars but on the newer ones it just looks out of place in my opinion. The worst though once in a while I'll see a Mercedes with a hood ornament and a grille emblem, I can't help but cringe. First thing I did on the C55 and the E55 was ditch it for a flat emblem and I never looked back.

Yes, unless it's a fully loaded non-sport S-class. Aside from that, modern Benzes really need the flat badge.
