Ok,

I finally have some track pics.

notice the body lean on this bad boy.

I hope to get pics after I put my carlsson's on at the same location and see how they look different.

I am so jealous, it must be fun Prasith. In addition to the Carlsson CO, better get a set of H&R sway bars as well. It will DRASTICALLY reduce the lean.

frank,

there really is quite a bit of lean and notice how the front is pushing out. I sat at the same place and watched a lot of m3's and the front bites a lot more. There is more rotation in the bmw's and I am hoping my carlsson CO will show the similar results. I need something that I can rotate around like a go-kart. Anybody have any suggestions??

i think more negative camber really will help as smg and evosport have stated. Looking at the pic it half feels like the wheel will roll over.

Harris,

do you have front and rear sways? how do you feel it has helped in the handling? What are the specs on those vs. stock?

Thanks for the kind replies.

I used to have Evosport sways but now I have H&R sways (front and rear). The built quality is very good. It will definitely help your bodyrolling problem A LOT, if you want your car to drive like a go-cart, set the Carlsson's at 2 or 3 all around. If my memory serves right, the H&R front is 26mm vs stock 22 and 19mm rear vs. stock 16mm.

Harris, how do you feel the increase of 2mm on the front bar affected the push in the front?

Somewhere there is a thread with the mathamatical calculations for increase in stiffness of all the bars. I can't find it, but the bar thicknesses are:

Stock: F22/R16
Evo: F24/R19
Eibach: F24/R22
H&R: F26/R19

What is the stock C Class bar thicknesses? I think the C32 is significantly stiffer than the other models. With the Carlsson's, I don't really think I need the bars on the car. The extra firmness in the suspension keeps the car really flat in the corners. I feel that bars may just cause more lifting of the inside wheels. Two schools of thought on suspension tuning: Softer springs and shocks with swaybars, and stiff springs and shocks without swaybars. Different methods of arriving at similar places.

The car oversteers enough, so going with a 22mm rear bar is probably too much. Increasing to 26mm in the front won't help the push tendencies of the car. I would consider a unique approach and keep the stock front bar at 22mm and buy the 19mm rear bar. Or mix and match the Eibach front bar and the H&R rear bar, both of which are adjustable.

What kind of bushing problems have those of you who upgraded to swaybars had? Noise? Fitment? Recommendations? Does the stiffer front bar cause a premature failing of the sway bar links due to the additional forces and stresses put on it? Are there issues with the rear bar attachment points that would indicate a reinforcement is in order?

I guess I should buy them all and take them to the track for testing. Now that we have the RS suspension tuned well, we can focus on sway bar benefits, if any.

I think your front tires will beg to differ. The car definitely has power on oversteer but steady state cornering still produces too much understeer. More rear roll stiffness and an LSD for the power on oversteer may be the answer.

That's what I was gonna say. To reduce understeer, you need to either soften the front end or stiffen the rear end (or a combination of both). Since you probably don't want to soften the front, you should leave the front alone and stiffen the rear with higher damping rates and/or a larger rear sway bar. Tire widths also affect this, as well as tire pressures. Before adding any suspension parts, try running less pressure in the rears than in the fronts and see how much understeer gets dialed out.

This will not do much of anything. I ran my car with the rear tires on the front(245) and the front tires on the rear(225) and it still pushed like a pig.

Nothing
Great pics, especially the 1st one. I also don't think the body lean is that much, but you can clearly see from that angle that there is way to little camber on front and rear wheels.
