How's the new Command DVD-Nav in the C55?

I've never used Command before, but I have a C55 on order and asked the dealer for a quick tour of Command Nav. They did it in an S430 since it was the only car with the nav data loaded. Seems ok, there was this feature called 'bird's eye view' which was cool, but they say it only comes on S-classes. Is that true? I'm not sure I want/need the nav system since I hardly go on road trips, and if I did I check out mapquest ahead of time.

I like it much better than the one in my old C32. I like the design, the graphics are much sharper, i like the controls better, you can have a single CD and the DVD-Nav disc in at once, since there are two slots. The only 2 things i wish it had are voice recognition & you can't input the title of the cd's like in the old COMAND.

Most likely not. Unless you have some type of retro fit from Steve.

Ive fiddled with it in the E55, and still think it comes up short to the japanese offerings in the Acura/Honda and Lexus cars. Those DVD setups are amazing at how quikcly they can repaint maps, scrolll options, touch screen, voice command, bluetooth, etc...good thing I dont buy a car based on the electronic toys
