Mainly because C32 is a V6, where E55 is a V8. Also the kompressor drive on E55 is separate from accessory drive, what we found is that without a damper E55 had a tendency to damage woodruff key drive on the pulley.
This is why on C32 it is solid and on E55 it has been dampened.

I of course realize that the E55 uses a 5.5L V8 and the C32 uses a 3.2L V6. But looking at previous posts about MB motors I was confused why it was felt necessary to run the Damper on the V8 and not the V6.
