Prefacelift bulb holder in Facelift Housing (Tailights)

Does anyone know if you can use the facelift tail light housing with the prefacelift taillight bulb holder, that way you do not need to convert to a 7pin connector?

I got my C55 with prefacelift taillight glass installed together with original facelift bulb holder. In order to do this previous stupid owner cut part of housing because facelift bulb holder is thicker (bigger) and all rear part was in plastic dust. So yes with some modification (cutting plastic) you will fit it in.

I bought the facelift tail lights and I see what you mean, the bulb pattern is slightly different and requires modification of the housing to use the original bulb holder or to change the connector is using the new bulb holder.

Instead of messing with the harness, I think I would rather extend the hole in the housing so the 1 bulb that doesn't fit, fits.
