Stock HID to aftermarket HID 05 C55

Why do all of the aftermarket HID headlight assemblies say for use only on halogen vehicles? I want to swap my stock HID lights but can't? Why not? Is there a required adaptor or something else I'm not catching? I did a search and I'm coming up empty.....

My guess is that the new 'Halogen to HID' conversion kits are based on existing wiring; factory HID's are far more complicated (and expensive). What're you looking to do?

I like a pair of aftermarket headlights but they are only made to work with halogen.... I have HID... Really I guess a compatibility issue. Does anyone make an HID to Halogen adapter plug?

I was looking into this as well. I was considering making my own wiring harness for the lambo headlights but it seems like it would be a lot of work just for some cool DRL’s, I don’t even know if it’s possible. I’ll consider doing it if I find the money and time to order headlights I may not use.

I don't know much about the W203, but on the W164 platform, by using a Mercedes SDS you can set the HID option to halogen. All you do then is install the hardware you want (wiring, and headlights of your choice).

I guess I dont get what you are trying to do. Change the color temperature to something more blue like a 6k? Just get new bulbs, keep stock ballasts and igniters.
