C55 amg gass cap lock broken

Its been about 2-3 weeks since i got my C55 and this morning I was at the gastation trying to fill up my tank when my gas cap wouldn't open. I strugled with it for 5 minutes; unlock then lock lock then unlock and nothing worked!! I was low on gas and got scared that i was gonna get stuck on the road but i made it to the dealership and guy told me my lock for the gas cap broke so he left it unlocked for now. 2-3 weeks after i get the car problems already begin; im not too happy about this!! Any other C class owners have had this problem?

Welcome to the world of Mercedes Benz....

I've had a somewhat similar problem, and it was the fact that the gas cap door couldn't close properly. Upon closer inspection it was due to the bent lock tab (the part that sticks out where the lock bolt goes through)

Mr. djx18:

Anything can happen to a car, however, I remember in NJ most gas stations are Full service. IF you had put gas in your car in the weeks prior to your incident, it is very possible that the attendant tightned the gas cap wrong on the thread it could have easily broken off (the cap is not a metal piece)

I used to travel a lot to NJ and I have seen how gas stations work there...

I meant the cover of the actual cap the part of the body that swings open allowing you to remove the cap not the actualy gas cover.
