This device is one which permits you to make 2 fused circuit out of an original single fused circuit. Thus, the fuse holder has two fuse slots. The bladed portion inserts into where the orignal fuse went. The original fuse goes into the first fuse slot on the device. The new fuse goes into the second slot and controls the current permitted to flow through the red wire.

Yeah your right. In that pic it is blocked, but i have since moved it up and to the right. I had just taken that pic when first finishing the install.

I got the parktronic in from the dealer.... part numbers can be found on the board. Yeah i sliced into the cig lighter, no problems real easy ... As for if it would fit a c55.. ... im guessing yes, but give it a couple of hours and someone will say if its does or not.

Finally Wired the V1!!

I finally installed my V1 today... I used the fuse ports in the back because like some one had said in this post, the front fuses are not switched (there always on). I used port 14 in the back... I used the Add-A-Circuit with a 2amp fuse on the top port and left the bottom one empty because port 14 was already empty... I ran the wire from where the seat gets lifted up and u can stick the wire in between the seat and the trunk by pushing your fingers through (pretty easy). I then tucked it under the sill the doors like some one else had said and went into the front fuse box by the driver’s door. Wired the ground to the screw that holds the front fuse box up. Put the V1's power unit thing in the front fuse compartment and finally ran the telephone cord up the door to the V1 and tucked it underneath again so nothing is visible. Took about an hour but I enjoyed doing it myself and saved myself some money!!!

(Waiting on the extra display unit still thinking about getting it)

Thanks for the help everyone!!! You all saved me money!!

If any one needs help feel free to pm me or email me djx18@mac.com

I tried to wire up my Passport 8500 today. Didn't quite work out. I used regular phone cord (4 wire) which is supposed to work and used the red wire in there as ground and green wire as positive. I wired up the power to an "Add-a-fuse" and put in a 2amp fuse. I plugged that into slot 14 in the trunk fuse box. Did I do anything wrong?

Where should I ground it in the trunk? Is there a specific bolt that i should do it to....theres not too many exposed ones.

I'm also tried using a fuse tap, but I couldn't get it in there with the fuse. After the fuse tap is put in, it is way too thick. How did you guys do it with the fuse tap? Those who did it with a fuse tap, which number fuse did you use in the trunk fuse box? It is the fuse box in the driver's side trunk correct. I have a 02 C32, I'm not sure if the fuse box/slots setup is different from a C55.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I just tested the phone cord by itself to the cigarette lighter and it works.

I guess the problem is either the "Add-a-fuse" is messed up or the slot (#14) I'm plugging it into doesn't have any power at all. I want to try the fuse tap if I can get it in with the fuse. I flattened it with pliers already, still too thick.

This is how I installed my V1

Took 45 minutes maybe. Sort of sounds like you guys are knocking yourselves out.
