Manual Swapped C55 Dyno Tune Results (w/Video)

Hello Everyone, felt like this would be useful for others out there to see some baseline and tuned number of the C55 on the Dyno.

The car is Sponsored by RaceIQ and was Tuned by Tony (He is Awesome btw!) using only Dyno run files as data, we plan to go back with proper data logging not far from now. I also have a Speed43 airbox on the way from Geo which will gets it's own feature video with Dyno results! And.. at some point I would like to add mid length or long tube headers....

The car is pretty extensively modified overall, but not a ton of engine/power mods. AEM filters, MAF screen delete, Secondary cat delete, exhaust is dumped at the rear axle after resonator.

SAE (Universal):
Baseline (No tune): 311hp/ 322tq at the wheels, 373hp/ 386tq at the crank.
Tuned: 322hp/ 340tq at the wheels, 386hp/ 408tq at the crank.

UNCORRECTED (My climate conditions):
Baseline (No tune): 322hp/ 333tq at the wheels, 386hp/ 399tq at the crank.
Tuned: 333hp/ 351tq at the wheels, 399hp/ 421tq at the crank.

Overall, the torque increase is very noticeable down low and the overall powerband feels much stronger. The engine audibly sounds 'meaner' or 'tuned' too which I found surprising. Really happy with where we are at and I know with a few more additions and proper data logging, Tony will really be able to dial this thing in.

Here is the video if interested:

Thx,
ANDERZÉN

Nice job! Have been watching your videos, looking forward to more content.

You should look into getting a dragy, really accurate 0-60 and 1/4 mile times and best of all video overlays of the runs.

Future content idea, m113 with m113k supercharger, VRP was talking about coming out with a pulley kit to make it simple.

Thank you for the kind words! Have some good things in the works!

I actually just found out, or rather remembered that my UltraGauge has 0-60 timer in it so that will be able to get very accurate measurements. Dragy is awesome, but 0-60 isn't enough of a concern for me to take away budget from the rest of the build, even if only $150 tbh.

Anything is possible I guess but if I did do forced induction it would most likely be a rear mount turbo setup. Honestly I have no plans to go away from na on the C55 though. The focus is all about power to weight and reliability for track usage. I am actively looking for another AMG to add to the channel however so we'll see!

Interesting results and awesome build. Seems like manual swap didn’t have much impact on drivetrain loss?

yea... my thoughts exactly, I don’t think the automatic is robbing as much power as people assume in this application. Maybe a few percent more than the manual but not much. I loved the 722.6 in this car and I’ve never loved automatics... just love driving manual a lot more.
thank you, you have an awesome build yourself, always check back to see updates on your thread! 👍

Nice results. And I agree with you on the power loss, the 722 isn't as bad as one would think (or the manual is inefficient). I also gained about 10-12whp as a result of the swap... but the re-tune and mid length headers pushed me to 351whp at the end of it.

My 100-200kph run, however, improved by a full 1.3 seconds before I re-tuned it. Dragy verified. Gearing is much nicer as you know with the extra cog.

I agree, and very nice gains you picked up. I am looking into options available for intake/exhaust upgrades, will likely go with mid lengths as well and ditch the primary cats. Have a few intake ideas, but I know the primary cats are currently the biggest restriction in the system overall.

Your clutch is holding up to all that torque?

yep, no problem at all, the stock clutches are pretty durable from everyone who I have talked to that has done the swap. Jikjakz who you can also find on YouTube just did a drift day and a track day in his w208 clk55 with same components as me (besides flywheel pattern) and everything is holding up fine...
If it is a concern you can always hit up Rennsport for custom SMF and clutch kits, but from the performance I am seeing I cannot justify the cost of that upgrade.
