Here's some very optimistic asking prices for a few C55 I found on AutoTrader today.
- This one's has a Kleeman supercharger kit. I called seller and he's asking $34,995. Wow! https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing
- This is a very clean, mid-50k mileage with asking of $29,995. Nothing special...........https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing
- This is a typical C55 with a superior condition versus No. 2 with, again, mid-50k mileage with an asking price of $28,500. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing

Highly optimistic IMO. People trying to capitalize from the pandemic related spike in used car prices. As rare as our cars are, I don't think they are collector cars. When asking prices are within a stones throw of W204 C63 AMG prices, I don't think people are going to bite. I certainly wouldn't.

No way would I spend that kind of money. My C55 was excellent, but this car is 15 years old now. I sold my 218,000 mile C55 for just under $5k. If I were looking for a good deal, I'd be looking for a 2012 post-facelift C63. More modern, more tech, center dash revision, and revised head bolts. But even that car now is nearly 10 years old and now 2 generations old

I believe they should be up in price between $20k and $30k , best choice there would be the kleeman build
Now a days what does $30k really buy you a Honda Accord with wireless charger options
I enjoy my c55 believe it’s rare enough and fast enough to be a collectors choice with low production
numbers A rare red one sold on BAT for over $30k , If you find a good deal buy it

Just coz cars are newer that doesn't automatically make them better.
They'll have some newer features sure but is the reliability and quality there? Even the c63.....the interior looks like its out of a Toyota Camry on those cars. The leather on them wears ou by the time they hit 60k miles. C55 interior holds up way better than most these newer amgs.
Also the m113 is one of the easiest to work on and most reliable engines Mercedes ever developed. The m156, while its a beast is not so reliable. Sure at 39k the price might be a bit crazy but a c55 in good shape and well cared for deserves to be up there in value.

I guess you guys are seeing the C55 as a special car to you (like if it was a Black Series, etc). To each their own if you want to pay that much for the car.

Special car
I love my c55 think it’s better then a lot of AMGs on the road today
As far as price and value goes it’s really supply and demand condition miles but if someone really wants one doesn’t matter how much they gonna pay
can’t really put a value on happiness it’s priceless What you think that c55 on bring a trailer is worth ?

Let prices go to the moon i say.
As current owners it benefits us.
Would be interesting to see values on wagons, here in NZ they are still cheap, especially for a car that has only 600 made.

Yes I agree with daynger I tried to bid on it but there was a much more passionate AMG enthusiast out there
that stepped up and payed up for that amazing c55 “special car” lucky guy that was his price on
happiness and at the same time all of us that own c55s will see a spike in value finally , even tho
I would never sell mine but wouldn’t mind buying another congrats to the buyer
