Noise from dash (stepper motor suspect)

Hi guys.
I recently bought a C32 amg.
There is noise from the dash when I start the car.
The knocking sound is on the back of the middle console and lasts about 20-30 sec then it goes away.
Is it safe to drive a car with this?
I am 2000km away from a Merc specialist that I use to service my Mercs. If it safe to drive with this until I can get time to take it in with him...
My aircon doesn't work also.
TIA

It's safe to drive with it.
PITA is an understatement. It's a nightmare.
Let me know if you want some advice via PM or voice. I tackled this and ultimately came up with an unorthodox fix but It worked and it was free.
