Does anyone know what controls the center (mileage, time temp., etc.) display when the door is opened and closed. Right now, when the drivers door is opened, the dome light and center of the cluster illuminates. When the door is closed, the dome light times out but the instrument cluster is staying illuminated. Just started doing this and it subsequently drains the battery. Normally, when the door gets closed, both the dome light and cluster time out unless, of course, the car is started.

Any help, suggestions will be appreciated.

I wondered about them. I would think that, if the door switch was bad, the dome light wouldn’t function properly. In this case, the dome light goes on/off as it should.
