Mercedes and AMG have gotten their act together and now release AMG cars usually within 4-8weeks of the model launch. In the past it may have been the following model year or the spring after the fall launch before you could get the AMG car. I hear the "all new" C-class will be offered in 06' as an 07' but my guess is exactly that, a guess.

The US auto magazines are hinting that the changes made for 2005 are all thats in store for the C-class. Maybe the planned makeover for model year 2007 has been cancelled. I can't get a straight answer from the dealer. It appears that the new CLS will be launched in the spring of 2005 and I am starting to think that this is where they are concentrating their money right now.

2-3 months, but for North America it was usually a year after the car's launched.

My experience with the E320(W210) facelift which I bought in 2001 , was that just a year later they had launched the new E W211.
So I would guess the new C will launch in Q4 2005 and even earlier.
And then, based on past history, the new generation S class will launch before the new generation C.

Any more accurate info?

C is the true profit making (60% of MB profits come from the C ). If the new C don't catch up with the new BMW 3 Series , I am worried.
So I guess the C's and 3's will be launched about the same time.....
Just guessing.
