M113 Top End Rebuild
I am autoXing my C55 that has 150k miles but thanks to the people at fcp euro I can afford to rebuild the top end of the motor somewhat consistently, the question is, do our rocker arms, valve springs, spring retainers, and spring keepers wear out under high demands like that? Or can I get away with just doing the seals and lifters in that part of the engine?

Rocker arms are bulletproof, no need to do anything to those. Valve springs DEFINITELY get more “tired”over time and if you want to really sustain high revs, recommend getting higher seat pressures & open pressures when replacing. Try to get the highest quality lightest spring possible. The keepers don’t really wear you can reuse those.
‘’also many want to thoroughly clean the hydraulic lifters because they can “gum” up with gunk after 150k miles so make sure they are clean. You can rebuild them yourself but requires meticulous hands and a magnifying work lense to make the job easier.
Obviously replace all gaskets. Also the timing chain & chain guide are essential to replace definitely do those bc the chains do stretch over time and the guides typically wear out by 125k so they may already be past due if you have not done them. Rear Main Seals are notorious for leaking as well but that requires you to separate from tranny so if you don’t want to fully taken engine out and there’s no leaks between engine & transmission flange I guess you can push that off until later.
while at it tranny fluid flush recommended if not done yet at 150k
