So Rob was back in the good books....UNTIL

I PM'd Saturnstyl (who's a very helpful MB mechanic on the forum) and he told me that the smoke could be normal and if it only happened once and the engine's running normally that I should leave it be. He also said the last thing I need is some local mechanic messing around in there, which could lead to more serious problems later on.... So I have mixed feelings about the Robster.. If something serious happens and I'm left stuck using the teleaid to get help, then Robert Feller had better leave town...

You think Rob is anxious about his work?? Just thank God you work for the AMG engine plant and not the BMW M division. Those guys would be under the Federal Witness Relocation Program.

Damn.....maybe Robert Feller was on his meds the day he built my engine. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
I wonder how many engines this guy has built total?

I'd imagine the techs have built quite a few engines being that there are a few members on this forum that have the same builder (and us members are a tiny fraction of all the CLK55/C55 owners out there....

true! .. but there's the possiblity that he'd been having family problems back home and now it's effecting his work... "The weights of the cylinders are way off and misaligned... oh well I don't give a ****, I'm not gonna drive it" (as Mr. Feller builds my engine)... :p

They build an engine a day at the AMG plant. There was an AMG guy at the Chicago Auto Show building engines for the Mercedes exhibit, and I saw him interviewed on the local news. They even showed him attaching the plate with his name to each engine, though I can't remember what his name was...
