They reviewed the car as well as got feedback from owners. Anyone here?

For the Best Car of 2005 in Car & Driver they had an array of cars. However they choose two Mercedes (C55 and SLK 350) Won't this just split the votes between the two and give both of them low votes....All and all, I don't really care but someone must not want a Mercedes to win

The Autoweek article was very favorable. Usually these autofiles are more critical.
There is almost no chance of the C55 being named car of the year. It is too much of a niche car. I suspect that the winner will be the C6 Corvette or the 300C.

I agree with the placement of the shift buttons on the steeering... Too easy to inadvertently hit the buttons while steering. When my wife first drove it, she asked "why is the engine racing" as she was stuck in 2nd gear...
