SEARCHING FOR A BIT OF ADVICE ON MY C32 that has a sudden no-crank situation.
2002 C32 AMG
the car had been shifting hard before I went away for a couple of months...then while I was gone, the battery got low...I jumped it...it started and ran fine, but I heard a weird distortion noise out of the stereo when I jumped it, I didn't even think anything of it...I did the TCU and ECU resets and it was running and shifting perfectly...now only issue...radio had no sound...it powered on, went through the stations scanned etc...cd button said NO CD CHANGER, but no sound....so I started checking fuses, figuring it was the amp...after pulling and checking fuses, I now have a no crank situation...something similar to this happened last year when my fuel pump went out, and after checking fuses I lost the crank of the starter...I can not remember what I did to get it re-set, and allow me to start it...I have the battery unhooked now...leaving it that way overnight, hoping tomorrow I have a reset, because I believe it is a DAS thing, its not like the car "WON'T" start...its more like the car is not "ALLOWING" me start it....not an actual bad starter etc...it had no symptoms of bad starter in advance of this stereo fiasco... I did pull all the fuses in the front sam and put them back in, all while the battery was still hooked up, maybe that caused a possible DAS trigger? I Will update you tomorrow after the battery has been unhooked for a while...any suggestions would be appreciated, Im not going down the jumper wire rabbit hole yet...I've not tested any relays, or to see if I have power at fuse 52, my fuse 52 looks to be intact, but it is the original 15 amp, I see folks go to 20 amp on that fuse..that will all be done in the daylight tomorrow....is there a fuse that will reset all DAS settings to factory?? I do not have an OBD scanner with me.
