EVOIII Power Package for C32 is almost ready. Meanwhile I thought I would post some info on one of the parts in this package.

The part is rather simple. It is a set of phenolic spacers to isolate intake manifolds (surge tanks) from the cylinder heads. As a result, on average, manifold temperature is down by 20-25F compared to the kompressor housing. Car is less susceptible to heat soak and recovers quicker from it.

The installation is fairly simple and can be done under an hour with simple tools. Spacers come in a set of two with a set of gaskets. Brad will post pricing information later.

Thank you for listening.

looks like a great product! i could use additional cooling. will this be sold separately outside of the EVO III package? and will this benefit cars which have stock pulley/ecu, or is it designed to help modded engines?

I wouldn't really expect to see any real hp gains. Only that your car runs at an overall cooler temp. Which is very important on our s/c'ed AMG cars...Which in return will prevent a big loss in hp and torque up top.
Is that correct?

I was asking how much HP the Stage III would give us.

Vadim, I think it is interesting that you are saying that the gaskets between the S/C and the manifold help keep the manifold temperatures lower. Or am I misunderstanding what you are saying?

Generally phenolic spacers/gaskets keep the heat from the heads from soaking into the intake manifold, thus decreasing intake temps. Is there a problem with the S/C getting hotter then the 210+ degrees that the engine gets to?

although the spacers separate the manifold from the heads, it would seem that the manifold would still get hot over time.

That is true. It just delays the process by insulating the heat. However I dont beleive these gaskets go between the heads and the manifold. It seems that these go between the S/C and the manifold, or at least that is what it looks like from the pic. Vadim, which gaskets are these, SC to IM or Head to IM?

Stage III made as much as 411RWHP with 410RWTQ in development. I shooting around 400/400 for production version.

Yes, you are correct. The spacers keep intake manifold from direct contact with the kompressor. Under boost, charge temperatures reach over 300F. Kompressor housing around 260-270F.

Here is what we are going to do for the MBWorld community. We are going to do the first 10 kits we make ONLY to MBWorld members and do them at $249.00 vs. the retail of $299.00 that we will sell them at after the MBWorld exclusive special!

So I know that there are many interested, so here is how I would like to proceed.

1. send an e-mail to brad@evosport.com
2. make sure the subject says "C32/SLK32 Spacer Deal"
3. Give me your complete shipping, billing and payment information

Or you can call me at 714.901.3100 x15

I will keep a list of the 10 members who jump, and the deal will expire on the 10th sale.

Thanks for all the interest and continued support.

Since I have some basic machine tools I made up a set of phenolic spacers for my AMG C43 a little over a year ago and they work just like Vadim says. It really helped with heat soak on my C43 and helps to keep that cool morning Hp rush for a lot longer. It is a good product IMO.
