Exhaust install help
Ok, I tried searching, but every thread on exhausts seems to be about upgrading or deleting cats, etc. I just need to get my existing exhaust back on to the manifold. I am having a hard time getting the rotating collar of the exhaust to fit perfectly to the manifold. I’ve tried lifting the exhaust in place with a jack, but I can’t get the surfaces to mate correctly so there is always a bit of a gap. For short drives it doesn’t do much but on longer drives I end up with codes and have to reset them. Which is why I’m here. Any tips or tricks to this? Or keep trying and hopefully just get lucky

I had to jack up the motor with a hoist separate to get a good fit on mine (bad motor mounts). I also had as few of the exhaust anchors attached as possible, definitely a two person job.

I recall it being fairly absolute and not that difficult when I had the driver's side off to replace the motor mount. I did not remove the passenger side. Watch legit street cars on YouTube and he has a C55 which he removed the exhaust and you can watch how he reattached.
